MORE THAN A MEDIUM

The Brief:

Create graphics for “More than a Medium” show aligning with the tone and pace of the show’s style. Initial graphics include logo, show open, lower third, a wipe. Visuals should be influenced by the overarching topic of a Medium and his students bringing messages from the “other side” helping loved ones heal and find peace. At clients request an exploration of color palette that would include purple tones. All 3 concepts in presentation display a logo concept, color palette, visual patterns/textures and one style frame. Although style frames are typically a storyboard sequence, for time’s sake only one style frame was created per concept. Once concept has been chosen more style frames or rough drafts will start to be developed.

WHAT DO OTHER SHOWS LOOK LIKE?

LOGO CONCEPT 1: SACRED GEOMETRY

Concept 1 draws inspiration from Sacred Geometry which is regarded as a blueprint of creation and the language of the gods. It is the visual expression of the interconnectedness of all life forms. Sacred geometry is the basic fundamental building blocks of our universe. It is considered by some to be a symbol of sacred geometry, said to contain ancient, religious value depicting the fundamental forms of space and time. These shapes were broken down by the ancients into numerous mathematical formulas; various numbers and specific symbols that they believed were the foundation for everything in the Universe. This belief in inseparability, interconnectivity, and harmony is a constant reminder of our link to the whole. The circle is regarded as one of the most critical shapes of geometry in nature. It is considered a symbol of unity, and wholeness of the Universe. Besides, the ratio of the circumference of the circle in contrast to its diameter is known as Pi, which is a never-ending number; neither does it repeats itself.

STYLE FRAMES CONCEPT 1: SACRED GEOMETRY

Concept 1 used various geometric shapes as visual assets in a modern way inspired by sacred geometry. The gold logo pops off the cool purple and blue toned background. Sparkles convey energy and bring lots of visual movement into the concept. Bokeh effects, light flares and geometric shapes at varied depths tie this look together.

LOGO CONCEPT 2: FLOW OF EMOTION

Mediums bring on a strong flow of emotion to people they are reading. Whether it’s a rush of relief, sorrow or happiness, its a deep flow of energy. Concept 2 visually shows that flow, the sense of a powerful movement from within. Visually and symbolically the edges are uneven, maybe even frayed with many layers that are not tangible and cannot be fully grasped like a flow of water. People receiving reading are not the only ones with a flow happening. Mediums often get a flow, a stream of imagery, symbols and words from the other side. It is rarely spelled out plainly from the other side, but rather a perfectly imperfect channel of information enough that the receiver can understand.

Concept 2 is splashes of layered colors signifying a flow of emotion. The colors flow on screen with a burst of visual movement with brushed on lettering like an artist signing his painting.

LOGO CONCEPT 3: THE MESSAGE

Concept 3 is inspired by the message from the other side. What an amazing gift that Mediums could bring to someone. People who seek out Mediums are looking for answers, for closure, or healing. The messages Mediums provide clients have a profound impact on their lives. A message from the other side they will never forget. With Spirit Tree being a part of the show, this concept also explores elements of a tree. Trees are symbols of physical and spiritual nourishment, transformation and liberation, sustenance, spiritual growth, union and fertility. The tree is a spiritual motif and framework, a map of conception and consciousness that brings together the temporal worlds of time, space and consciousness. Trees are the places of birth and death; they are used as sacred shrines and places of spiritual pilgrimage, ritual, ceremony and celebration. Sacred trees are found in the Shamanic, Hindu, Egyptian, Sumerian, Toltec, Mayan, Norse, Celtic and Christian traditions.
